Privacy Policy
Splitify (“the app”, “we”, “us”) is a personal expense-splitting app for iOS, published by an individual developer based in India. This policy explains what information the app collects, why, and the choices you have. It is written to meet Apple’s App Store requirements and India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
Who is responsible for your data

What we collect and why

We do not collect location, contacts, photos, device advertising identifiers, or usage analytics. The app links no third-party analytics or advertising software.
Information about other people
When you add a friend’s name or UPI ID to a group, you are entering information about another person. Only add details you are entitled to share, and only what is needed to split expenses. This information is visible only to you and is removed when you delete the friend, archive or delete the group, or delete your account.
Legal basis for processing
We process your data to provide a service you have asked for (performing the contract represented by these terms) and, where applicable under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, on the basis of the consent you give by creating an account and entering data.
Service providers
Splitify relies on the following providers to operate. They process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore), provided by Google LLC. Your account identity and the content you enter are stored in Cloud Firestore on Google’s cloud infrastructure. See Firebase’s privacy information.
- Apple — Sign in with Apple (if you choose it) and the App Store / StoreKit for purchases. See Apple’s Privacy Policy.
- Google Sign-In (if you choose it), provided by Google LLC. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with anyone for advertising or marketing.
Where your data is stored
Data is stored using Google Firebase infrastructure and may be processed on servers located outside India, including in the United States. Where data is transferred internationally, it remains subject to this policy and to the contractual protections Google provides for Firebase customers.
How long we keep it
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. Archived groups remain in your history until you delete them or your account. When you delete your account, all of your groups, participants, expenses and your account record are permanently removed. Purchase records held by Apple are governed by Apple’s own retention policies.
Deleting your account and data
Open Profile → Delete Account in the app. You will be asked to sign in once more to confirm, after which the app permanently deletes every group, friend, expense and the account itself. This action cannot be undone. If you are unable to use the in-app option, email ashishmankar9@gmail.com and we will delete your data.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your data. Most of this is available directly in the app; for anything else, contact us at the address above. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Children
Splitify is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will remove it.
Security
Data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS. Access to your stored data is restricted by Firestore security rules so that each account can read and write only its own data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by a new “last updated” date on this page, and where required we will seek your consent again.
